Date: 10.02.2024 ## Vision for the future: I want a life where my emotions are stable, my body is healthy, my family is content and my job is fulfilling. I believe that in 36 months, I would be able to settle on a career path that plays to my strengths and am able to achieve expertise in it. I want to also run my day to day efficiently with fewer bad decisions. ## Key goals to achieve: - Manage your emotions better - Keep your body fit - Help family become happier - Find and excel at a fulfilling career ## Feeling of achieving your vision: It would be some of the best moments of my life to be able to achieve my vision, both personally and professionally. I would be super delighted and fulfilled to be able to work a job in which I am great at while contributing to society. The feeling of contentment knowing that my family’s security and happiness is secured would be second to none. ## Obstacles or fears: - Lack of focus - Unable to focus on one singular goal at any given time and being constantly distracted. - Procrastination - Unable to get things done on time and waiting until the last minute and ending up with a hurried product that is not up to my expectations. - Self-sabotage - Often falling into a cycle of getting in my own way through fear of failure and potential loss of social credibility. - Overwhelm - Getting bogged down under the weight of multiple tasks and unable to make significant progress on any of them at the right time. - Ego - Unable to seek assistance because of my age and seniority in my career and afraid of stepping outside my comfort zone over the fear of failure. ## How to overcome obstacles: - Lack of focus - Use a simple productivity system like Pomodoro Timer and the Ivy Lee method that can help me cut down distractions and focus. - Procrastination - Time blocking on my calendar for important tasks and getting an accountability buddy to keep me on track for those tasks. - Self-sabotage - Seeking counseling from a trained psychologist and identifying sabotage patterns and proactively working to not fallback into older destructive habits. - Overwhelm - Breaking down larger tasks into smaller ones and then chunking similar tasks together so that it is easier to do in a state of flow or otherwise. - Ego - Identifying small steps that I can take to transition into the career I want where the risk of failure is small and not overtly fatal. ## Next steps: - Set up pomodoro and Ivy Lee method into my calendar. - Time block for important tasks and activities (personal and professional). - Seek counseling from a psychologist. - Practice mindfulness mediation and yoga for mood regulation. - Take small steps towards career transition.
