__Title:__ A Hundred Suns __Author:__ William Park __Genre:__ Fantasy ## Summary Set in 1970s Japan, the story follows Hakaru on this journey of avenging the organization that harmed his family and took them away. Hakaru’s life takes a turn when a bounty hunter takes away his family and leaves him to be raised by a village that has been ravaged. Determined to avenge his family, Hikaru goes through the 100 planets that will lead him to the abductor of his family and possibly reunite with them. On his journey he figures out who he really is and meets the love of his life only to lose her because of his goal of avenging his parents. He later discovered that the organization he was chasing after was not the ones who took his parents and he then finds the corrupt individual and avenges his parents. ## Characters - Hakaru is a well written complex character with many inherent flaws that make him seem more human than the average fantasy protagonist. - Sia as Hakaru’s wife is a rounded character whose loyalty lies with her partner first and her tribe next. - Mojara as Hakaru’s mentor is a character with dark undertones and the hook between Hakaru and his destiny. ## Themes - Revenge - Sacrifice - Betrayal - Deceit ## Strengths - Strong protagonist - Ample twists - Multiple cliffhangers ## Weaknesses - Violence - Lack of strong female characters __Overall Rating: 8 out of 10__
